Course: Sustainability, artistic development, and youth in rural areas – A creative hiking experience
Dates:
24th to the 26th of June 2025
Location:
Granada, Spain (with hiking in the surrounding mountains)
Target Audience:
Adults, particularly those working in the cultural sector, educators, artists, and those working with young people and sustainability.

PROGRAM:
Day 1: Introduction to sustainability and artistic development
Morning:
- Welcome and introduction: Overview of course goals, La Moebius’ work, and sustainability in youth art.
- Practical workshop: Learn sustainable artistic practices using eco-friendly techniques and recycled materials.
Afternoon:
- Nature walk & artistic inspiration exercise: Hike in the mountains with creative exercises based on nature, fostering engagement in sustainable art. Making a united art piece – Land art.
Day 2: Youth, community, and sustainable creativity
Morning:
- Workshop: Engaging rural youth through art and sustainability. Methods for involving young people in projects that raise environmental awareness.
Afternoon:
- Practical workshop: Collaborative creation of sustainable art projects for youth, using green materials.
- Nature walk with reflection: Continue hike to gather inspiration for projects, we will visit Abadía del Sacromonte for a reflection session in their garden.
Day 3: Implementation and sharing learning
Morning:
- Workshop: Integrating sustainability into artistic practices and institutions, engaging youth in sustainable initiatives. Meeting up in Alhambra gardens.
Afternoon:
- Project presentations & reflection: Share and discuss projects developed during the course.
- Closing & certificates: Participants receive certificates, acknowledging new skills in sustainable art and youth engagement.
